The wedding backstory
This Lanesborough Wedding Video was going to be great! The Lanesborough hotel on Hyde Park corner in Central London hosted one of our most luxurious weddings of the year. With an American family on the brides side and English on the grooms. Connected through a scholarship to an American college and a natural crossing between a student sportsperson and student journalist. This was a wedding brought to us by esteemed wedding planner Ann Nicholas and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Working alongside us whilst we filmed we had Camilla as photographer, meaning the day would go smoothly and to plan from that side of things.
Layout of the wedding day
Already legally married our couple still wanted to have a church service and so it was that after morning preparations we headed just a short walk to St Pauls Knightsbridge . A welcoming church service later it was time for videography on the way back to The Lanesborough. This gave me the chance to film the couple just naturally walking up and down some scenic London Mews, surrounded by the buzz of the city but still only with eyes for each other. As always nothing is posed when I am filming a wedding video. I prefer to encourage natural emotions: ‘have a walk over there and just have a chat to yourselves’ is my top phrase out. If your wedding film is posed it’s easy to see, and it looks odd. On photos you can’t tell, however, with video the subtleties of eye or arm movement make posed awkwardness magnified on video.
Returning to The Lanesborough it was onto the drinks reception, meal followed by very emotional speeches. All the nerves from the speakers beforehand evaporated when they got up and all delivered their messages eloquently. Then the dancefloor opened and the night really began!
The wedding video package chosen
Two videographers for upto ten hours coverage of the wedding. A five minute cinematic trailer film of the wedding day. A twenty minute cinematic feature wedding film of the day showing all the best bits and creating a true film using the narrative of the day alongside the most visually stunning shots. Full ceremony and speech videos in their entirety.
